Confession: I clicked though a list of over 150 "celebrity wardrobe malfunctions." It took a little over 5 minutes, to give you some idea of the degree of attention.
Conclusions:
Well over 100 of the "victims" were female.
There were a number of repeat cases of "bad luck." Names recognizable for notoriety rather than for talent.
A goodly number could hardly be called "malfunctions" because they involved sheer fabric or a top obviously designed to flash nipples.
Also, a not insignificant number involved women getting out of limos and "inadvertently" advertising the fact they go commando. As an aside, it appears that more female celebs shave their pubic hair than don't. I'm reminded of the guy who claimed a one night stand with the "I'm not a witch" Tea Party candidate and said he was put off by the fact she was not shaved. Must be one of those generational things.
Several of the males involved having a swimsuit fall down when somebody had a long lens on the swim--that is, it really was a malfunction but it's unclear whether what malfunctioned was the swimsuit or the celebrity's understanding that the beach was private.
Some of the females also plainly got long lensed in circumstances where the "malfunction" was in the expectation of privacy, not the clothing.
Since I bit on the click bait, I'm not in a position to tsk tsk the paparazzi. Still, some of this stuff grossed me out. Not the nudity but the violation of privacy.
Those people who want to use their bodies to raise their name ID, OK I guess--it's a temporary advantage, so you better learn to act or sing or whatever because your genetic assets have a limited shelf life.
But the use of long lenses to catch people unaware because they are entertainers....yuck. I am also reminded of the long lens photos of JFK's widow skinny dipping on her new husband's yacht. She didn't ask for that. The jerk who did that was on the level of the turkey who got photos of John Lennon's autopsy.
There'll be more of this now that just about everybody has a camera at all times. Just ask Barack "cling to their guns and religion" Obama or Mitt "47%" Romney. I can't get exercised about this. A pol who wants to have public and private faces that differ seems to me a bigger deal than which celeb shaves her pubic hair.
