There are no flame wars on my Facebook page because I follow a one degree of separation rule. Every "friend" is either someone I know in meatspace or recommended by someone I know in meatspace.
So, I have two Facebook friends who get their information from the right wing echo chamber, and it is educational to have them present. Gerald is a relative and Mike is a friend of a friend. Together, they are a window to a seamy underbelly of politics. Both are poorly educated, but neither is a bad man. It's fair to say they have some truly strange friends.
Most of the right wing echo chamber does not know what Obamacare is and was apparently paying no attention during the protracted fight over it.
They ask nonsensical questions like
"Why is Obama's family not on Obamacare?"Then, at a press conference yesterday, the learned correspondent from Faux Noise asked Jay Carney the same thing:
"Are you going to sign up for Obamacare?"I had an epiphany like I had on election night, when Gov. Romney had not prepared a concession speech and so it took him an unseemly amount of time to concede.
I realized Gov. Romney was so far in the bubble he thought he was going to win.
These guys are so far in the bubble they think Obamacare is a medical program you can choose to sign up for or not.
Good grief!
